Practical & effective BPH treatment with surgical lasers
The Pathfinder BPH laser supports all available laser treatment techniques including vaporization of the prostate with either a lateral fire (non-contact) or ball tip (contact) fiber, or enucleation (end-cutting fiber) making it the most versatile laser for BPH treatment available on the market today. While enucleation must be performed in an OR environment, the vaporization alternative technique can be performed in an OR, surgical suite, or private practice under local and general anesthetic at the discretion of the surgeon.
While the ultimate decision on clinical care resides with the clinician, the Pathfinder laser can be programmed to work in continuous wave and pulses mode over a wide range of energy setting to enhance its effectiveness on various tissue types, including hemorrhagic tissue (in patients on blood thinners), and tissue which may have been altered due to medications or previous treatments.
Finally, one of the most significant benefits of using Pathfinder urology lasers for BPH treatment is the alternative of local anesthetics for office-based procedures. Various methods including a combination or oral medication and peri-prostatic nerve block can be used to manage the patient’s comfort during the procedure.
